Agriculture ERP in Saudi Arabia

Farm costs accumulate across a season before any revenue arrives. Tracking inputs against yield per plot is what makes true cost visible.

  • True cost per tonne
  • Less input wastage
  • Better cycle planning
  • Traceable produce
Agriculture ERP in Saudi Arabia

What we hear before a rollout

The same four problems come up in almost every conversation in this sector.

Season cost is one big number

Inputs are bought centrally and never attributed to the plot that used them.

Water and power are excluded

The largest variable costs sit outside the yield calculation entirely.

Yields are compared loosely

Each cycle is recorded differently, so year-on-year comparison is guesswork.

Buyers ask for traceability

Grade, batch and storage history are requested and cannot be produced quickly.

How ERP supports agriculture

Cycle planning

Plots, seasons and planned activity per crop.

Plots, seasons and planned activity per crop, so cycles compare like for like.

Input control

Seed, fertiliser and chemical stock with application records.

Seed, fertiliser and chemical stock with application records tied to the plot that consumed them.

Yield capture

Harvest by plot and cycle against plan.

Harvest captured by plot and cycle against plan, while the season can still be corrected.

Cost per yield

Inputs, labour, water and machinery allocated to output.

Water, labour and machinery included, which is what separates real cost from input cost.

Storage

Cold and dry storage with batch and expiry tracking.

Storage locations with batch and expiry tracking through to dispatch.

Sales

Grading, contracts, dispatch and receivables.

Grading, contracts, dispatch and receivables linked so payment follows delivery.

Where most rollouts start

A first phase usually covers these four, then grows once the team is comfortable.

How we implement it

Agriculture ERP in practice: cycles, batches and the cold store

Farms, greenhouses, dairy and poultry operations and agri-traders in the Kingdom run on seasons, water and labour. The ERP models crop and livestock cycles as cost objects that accrue inputs, labour and equipment over months before revenue, harvest and production batches as lots with grading and traceability, cold storage with expiry, and sales through wholesale markets, retailers and exports.

We implement Odoo and ERPNext using analytic accounts and manufacturing orders for cycles and batches, lots and quality for grading, warehouses for cold storage, purchasing with landed cost for imported inputs, seasonal labour with GOSI and WPS where applicable, and price lists and van sales for distribution. Field staff use Arabic mobile apps.

Reporting covers cost per hectare or per batch, yield against plan, input and water consumption, margin by crop and channel and stock ageing in the cold store. Data can be hosted inside the Kingdom.
