Zoho Books vs Wafeq for Saudi Businesses

Wafeq is an accounting platform designed for Saudi and Gulf businesses and the accountants who serve them; Zoho Books is the accounting app of a full business suite. This comparison sets out where each fits.

The short version

Wafeq is built for the region: e-invoicing compliance, Arabic and English, bookkeeping workflows suited to accounting firms and their clients, and a clean ledger for SMEs. Zoho Books offers the same compliance and languages in its Saudi edition and adds what a growing business needs around the ledger: CRM, inventory, projects, HR and payroll, helpdesk and analytics in one suite.

We are an Authorized Zoho Partner and do not implement Wafeq. The comparison usually arises when an accounting firm keeps clients on Wafeq and a client's operations outgrow it. The sections below decide it.

Compliance and languages

Both handle Saudi e-invoicing and VAT and work in Arabic and English. Neither removes the need to configure tax codes and the e-invoicing route for your phase, and to clean customer VAT numbers before go-live. See ZATCA e-invoicing.
